  • Digital Marketing:

Digital Marketing is an advanced way of online marketing cover various aspects including SEO, Email Writing, AdWords, Affiliate marketing, etc. 

  • 301 Redirect: 

This comes into play when you switch the address of your URL. Apply 301 redirects to the old URL and your visitor will automatically re-directed from the old URL to the new URL. Your users who have bookmarked the old link can easily access new Updated links.  

  • Alt Text/Alt Tag / Alt Attribute:

This is the description for your images useful for search engine while ranking your website. Search Engine understands and ranks the article with the help of Alt Tag, unlike humans who look for designed images.

  • Anchor Text

This is the blue color underlined text which is hyperlinked to navigate the user to a different URL. Anchor Text must have a keyword associated with the landing page which helps search engine and reader understand the content of the landing page.

  • Blog:

 Some service provider companies have a separate blog section within their website where they list all the trending topics through which they attract readers and search engine attention. 

This is the one form of Blog other could be a passionate writer writes about his skills on blogging platforms like Blogger, WordPress, etc. is also considered a blog and the write as Blogger.

  • Bookmark:

Whenever we like a website, we usually used to save its URL in the form of bookmarks. You can easily bookmark a website on chrome by opening up the URL on your browser and click “Star” symbol.

  • Canonical URL:

Sometimes we mention a specific URL of our website on different pages within our website. We must define the parent URL page as canonical which helps the search engine in easy crawling.  

In short, This is the best place/webpage where the user can read about it. 

  • Conversion Form:

This usually pops up when we visit a service provider website who needs our information for future follow-ups. Filling the conversion form is not mandatory and you can easily skip it by clicking the cross sign. 

  • CSS (Cascading Style Sheets):

  • Directory: 

Just like we have a phone directory on our phone to save contact details. We have web directories on the internet to save website URL. 

  • Domain:

The name of your website URL. In my case www.onlineseoblog.com where Onlineseoblog is my Domain Name with .com as extension considered as Top-Level Domain (TLD).

  • Hosting:

The place where you host your website. In layman term Address of your home is “Domain” and your home is “Hosting”

Inbound means coming into our website. A link which brings the user from another website to ours is called Inbound Links. For us, we could refer it as a Backlink but the vice versa is not true. 

  • Internal Link: 

The link structure within the website for easy navigation of readers is called internal link. These types of link never took you away from the website but help us keep you at our website for a longer time.

Based on your PA and DA score page rank is decided by search engines and accordingly page is ranked over Search Engine Result Page. Remember along with PA and DA score there are other factors which contribute to page rank.

  • Search Engine:

Google, Yahoo, BING are the various search engine helps in browsing the internet. 

  • Search Engine Result Page:

The page that pops up in front of us when we hit the search query with all the related websites is called SERP

  • Web-Browser:

  • Organic/Natural Results:

The search results achieved through organic/SEO efforts is known as organic results. 

  • Paid Results:

The top results achieved through Google AdWords or paid medium is called paid result. 

  • Pay Per Click (PPC):

The search results achieved via Google AdWords cost you some amount per click known as pay per click. They charge the advertiser some amount based on the bid when a user clicks on the ad. 

  • Ranking Factors:

The factors which search engine consider while ranking your website is known as ranking factors. It includes inbound links, SEO title, keyword research, etc. 

  • Referrer String:

Tracking user movement and saving the details comes under referrer string. Google tracks our activity regarding how we visit the site, how many pages we browse, the average time we spent, etc. and send it to webmaster to display the data to the admin. 

  • RSS Feed:

It stands for Really Simple Syndicate or Rich Site Summary use to get a regular content update regarding a website. 

  • Sitemap:

The map of your site which helps the search engine while crawling your site content

We use this file when we want the search engine not to crawl a specific part of our website.
